We provide a full range of options for modifying shoes. Below is a list of some of the services we offer. If you don’t see what you are looking for, or if you have special needs, please call or email us with your questions.

Shoe Lifts:

To address leg length discrepancies we can add a full length, external lift to almost any type of shoe or boot. Most lifts will be of ¼” (6mm) or more. Lifts of less than ¼” can often be accomplished with a shoe insert (see below).

Our process for lifting a shoe is simple:

• Remove all, or a portion of, the original sole
• Add the lift to the bottom of the shoe
• Replace the original sole

Lifts up to and including 3/8”	$55.00
Lifts over 3/8” and up to 1”	$80.00
Lifts over 1” and up to 2”	$100.00
Lifts over 2”	Call for Estimate

In most cases we carefully remove and re-use the original sole. Some shoes and boots, however, may require that the original sole be ground off and a new sole be added. In such case, the price will typically be $10 - $15 higher.

Please send us a photo of your shoe for our assessment and cost estimate if you have questions. If we determine that a particular lift will be more costly than the price listed above, we will call or email you before we begin the work.

***NOTE: When placing your order, please specify whether
you want us to use firm or lightweight lift material.
We use firm lift material for all lifts of 1/2" or less.

Sit Lifts:

To address hip or pelvic insufficiencies we create sit lifts to meet your needs. Each sit lift measures approximately 4.5”X6.5” and is available in either a rectangular or curved shape.

Inserts:

We also make full length, custom-fit inserts to correct leg-length discrepancies and other problems. Most shoes will accommodate an insert of ¼” (6mm) or less.

Strap, Lace, and Tongue Modifications:

We modify many shoes to accommodate hand and finger mobility issues, severe edema, fitting braces, etc. Listed below are some of the services we provide.

• Extend/Add Velcro straps
• Change laces to Velcro straps
• Extend tongue area to facilitate shoe on/off or accommodate a brace
• Enlarge/reduce size of upper

Prices vary depending on the nature of the modification. Some of these modifications require special fittings and may not be appropriate for mail order work.
